Type Locality and Naming
Huab Basin. Named after local geographic features in the Huab River valley area of northwestern Namibia. Middle unit in Ecca Gr in Huab Basin
Synonym:
Lithology and Thickness
Dominated at the base by laterally amalgamated braided channel sandstones (fluvial). Progressing upward, these continental fluvial sandstones interfinger with wave-dominated deltaic and shoreface deposits.

Lower contact
Conformably overlies the Verbrande Berg Fm
Upper contact
Conformably overlain by the Huab Fm
Regional extent
Restricted to the Huab Basin in northwestern Namibia. Stratigraphically corresponds to the Ecca Gr (potentially equivalent to parts of the lower Ecca / Prince Albert Fm of the Main Karoo Basin in South Africa).
